Meeting Santa Social Story
What is a social story? How can it be used with your child during this holiday season?
A social story is an individualized short story that describes social relevant cues in any given situation. It breaks down a challenging social situation into understandable steps by omitting irrelevant information and by being highly descriptive to help children and adults with exceptional needs understand the entirety of a situation.
There are a variety of social story topics available, but with many families bringing their children to take pictures with and meet Santa, one of our speech-language pathologists has created a social story you can download here.
