Indoor Play: Create Your Own Fun

  • Are you anxious about having the kids cooped up while they are off from school and on winter vacation?

  • Do you fear it will be too cold to go outside and play?

Here are some fun ideas to make indoor play fun!

Yoga

Obstacle courses

  • Practice problem solving skills to come up with ideas

  • Encourage teamwork with peers/siblings to set up

  • Use pillows, blankets, cushions as obstacles

  • Practice balance walking on uneven surfaces

  • Practice taking turns

  • Create tunnels with furniture and blankets

  • Use a puzzle or matching game to give each pass a purpose

Dance Party

  • Play music and dance!

  • Try to remain active 30-60 minutes

  • Use a visual countdown timer to track time (App Store)

  • App: Just Dance Now

Scavenger Hunt

Exercise

  • Parents who love exercise have kids who love exercise!

  • Play Santa Says (like Simon Says)

  • App: Sworkit Kids
